State of Emergency:
When the Governor declares a state of emergency for the entire state or Sussex County, the library will be closed. The Library Director will notify those employees to be affected and make a public announcement via radio and/or television. If the emergency is declared after the library opens, the Director will set the time of closing.
Special Events:
Closing for special events will be decided on a case-by-case basis by the Delmar Public Library Commission.
Note: In addition to the employee holidays approved by the Delmar Public Library Commission, every effort will be made to schedule or switch days off when an employee wants to observe other religious holidays such as "Yom Kippur" or to honor special heritage days such as "Martin Luther King Day."
